New Quest is a quarterly journal of participative inquiry into society and culture. The journal seeks to generate serious debate on issues ranging across the humanities and social sciences. It also encourages literary contributions in the form of original as well as translated poetry and fiction.
Manuscripts: Specific Guidelines
1. Length: Articles and review essays should be of 3,000-5,000 words. Comments, Notes and Reviews should be of 400-1,000 words.
2. Manuscripts should not be under consideration anywhere else.
3. All submissions to be sent to the Honorary Editor, New Quest : dilip.chitre@gmail.com OR thebuckstopshere@sify.com
4. Original poetry and poetry in translation may be sent alternatively to the Poetry Editor, Sudeep Sen: sudeepsen.net@gmail.com
5. All submissions are subject to review by the Board of Honorary Editors. They may also be subject to anonymous peer review.
6. The Board of Honorary Editors is empowered to commission contributions directly.
7. The preferred form of submission is a CD, with the file in MS Word Rich Text Format OR an e-mail letter of submission, with attached file in MS Word Rich Text Format.
8. All tables, graphs, illustrations, photographs and visual images should be scanned by the author and sent as separate file attachments or incorporated in the CD containing the submitted manuscript.
9. Authors must include a brief CV at the bottom of their manuscript, and should also provide their current postal address.
10. Since New Quest is a quarterly, we would normally take up to three months to convey our acceptance of submissions to authors; accepted submissions may take up to one year to be published.
11. At present New Quest is unable to pay any honoraria to contributors; in lieu of that we give our contributors our life subscription, currently valued at Rs. 1500 in India.
